Well, okay, it’s really two rivers that come together. The North Branch of the Susquehanna, which interestingly enough is where my sweetheart, Brian comes from up in Wilkes Barre, and the West Branch, where I come from, flowing down from Lock Haven and the woodlands further north. How literally poetic that we now live here together where those two branches meet!

But this love story is not just about Brian and I today, but about three poets, our love for the river and for those people in our lives that have shared its heritage with us. If you head back to the last couple of posts, you’ll find small samples of our individual readings from Saturday morning’s River Festival in Sunbury. I shared the stage of the town’s new amphitheater with poets Melanie Simms and Marjorie Maddox. Here is a medley of the three of us.

Note: I usually try to present these in short clips. The reason I do this is because of my goals of reaching more and more people for poetry, and for those not already in love with the art, it seems small doses work well. There are other poems from each of us that I didn’t get to feature yet, so there may be yet one or two more videos, but I am thinking also of including the full 15 minute sets that the three of us did.
