the good housekeeper

Ah, this modern classic from Jaime Dedes is too good not to share. But why do I get a spring cold just in time for spring cleaning?

423px-Good_housekeeping_1908_08_a at sunrise with its shmears of
cream cheese clouds against
the quince-colored morning light,
Mrs. Goldberg is out of bed ~
a military tactician in war-time
no dust-bunny is safe, every
grease spot enzyme-bombed
out of existence, the wash thrashed by
machine, then hanged or folded, put in place,
her windows wiped, her floors scrubbed,
and woe betide wee crawling creatures,
so intent is Mrs. G on genocide

  1. Jamie Dedes says:

Charming and – Yes! – worth discussing. Short story: I love the final frame.

I also really like your new header, David!

    1. Jamie Dedes says:

By “charming” et al, I was referring to your second relbog, the cartoon.

Thank you though for this. Too kind. 🙂

    2. Ha! Thank you, Jamie. I think I’ll keep it, but it’s time to lose the snow background. 🙂
