There is more I can add, and as the article indicated there are plenty of things you could critique about any human in leadership, but to say we suffered is a load of crap. Here’s just a little bit of evidence:

David, thanks for posting this info. Growing up in a conservative family, I was “taught” many things that I am no longer in agreement with. Of critical concern to me is the “Republican” tendency to go completely deaf, dumb and blind to a candidate simply because he or she is a Democrat. Certainly, there are some positive tenets coming from the conservative camp, like decentralized government (power back to the states), better control over our borders, balancing the federal budget, protectionism (taxing foreign goods in order to promote more manufacturing here). I’ve come to believe, however, that there’s much more at stake, and that we cannot be revisionist or stoic in our approach. Several years ago, out of sheer curiosity, I read “The Audacity of Hope.” I tried (really hard) to see the face of this evil socialist son-of-a… who wanted to destroy America, suspend the Constitution, declare marshal law, cancel the election, and install himself as emperor of America. I could not find one morsel of fact or character or belief that would support such a claim. I liked what I read. I once told my father I am a “moderate.” He replied, “A moderate is just a liberal in denial.” Look, I voted for “The Donald” because Hillary scares the crap out of me. I’ll tell you this, though: If my choices in the General Election were Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump I would have pulled the Sanders lever.
