Music Monday with Pomplamoose

On Saturday, we did a Saturday Song from Nataly Dawn, the amazing song writer who is one half of the group Pomplamoose. It was pretty heavy stuff, and this is just the beginning of a rough week for me before I take next week off for some fall hawk migration watching! That’s another topic altogether though.

One of the coolest things about Pomplamoose is how Nataly frequently reharmonizes songs you already know, and Jack sets up genius arrangements. So, two meetings down today and one more biggie coming up tomorrow, here’s something on the light side. Pomplamoose teams up with some other popular YouTubers, John Cozart, Ali Spagnola, and Malinda to tackle this summer’s tune by Ed Sheeran and Khalid, “Beautiful People,” but done in the style of a musical. That’s right, a musical.

Here’s the original to compare. The video is kind of adorable. But I got such a kick out of the musical version, along with all the behind-the-scenes build up. If you are short on time, you can skip to the 7:16 mark and just watch the song. You need something like this on a Tuesday, trust me. But when you get the time, watch the whole thing so you can get a glimpse of how the magic all came together.  Enjoy!
