I have been meaning to post about this for a while now, but during these variously difficult times, one gets caught up in it all and lets certain important events be eclipsed by the news reels, the work load, the anxiety, the stress. Let’s promise each other not to let that happen, but instead take time to share our joys and accomplishments. We need to do that more than ever now. And if you don’t have a blog of your own, feel free to share in the comments here.

This is one of those announcements too good to let slide. This spring, in issue 27 of New Ohio Review, my poem “How It Ought to Be” was presented in print for the first time. I say “for the first time,” because I am happy to announce that the larger work of which this is a part will be published this winter by Seven Kitchens Press as part of their Editor’s Series of chapbooks. Ron Mohring of Seven Kitchens Press is a careful and brilliant editor, as well as a superb crafter of hand-stitched little books. I was thrilled to have my last chapbook, Angels & Adultery, published with Seven Kitchens, and I couldn’t be happier about this one being in their excellent hands as well.

This new collection is especially important and precious to me because it’s a collaborative project with my son Micah. It’s entitled Mapping the Valley, and you can read what the editors have to say about it by clicking right here.

I promise, I’ll share ordering info with you in a few short months when it’s ready. In the meantime, consider this a preview. I figured it was about time I recorded a new poem for you anyway. Thanks for listening, reading along, and most of all thanks for all your support and friendship!
