Affinities, in Crab Creek Review

I am excited to share with you a poem published in this spring’s edition of Crab Creek Review. If you’re a fan of Robert Lowell, you might see a bit of influence there from his poem “Skunk Hour,” which he dedicated to Elizabeth Bishop. It’s not just the appearance of the little striped “critters,” but I realized after writing it that there was something about coming to terms with a new reality, something in the tone that brings to mind his poem.

I share this in hopes that you’ll be inspired to invest in print magazines like Crab Creek Review. There are some beautiful poems in this issue, and I’m honored to have mine included. They have asked if they could include the audio in a future online archive as well. I hope you enjoy reading and listening to my poem, “Affinities.”
