Poems with Friends and Son

Coming up on June 26th, some dear friends and good poets have agreed to read with me in celebration of my two recent chapbooks. Moons, Roads, and Rivers came out in December from Finishing Line Press and was followed in May by a very different conversation in Angels & Adultery, selected by Nickole Brown for the Robin Becker Series at Seven Kitchens Press.

At 7:00 pm on Tuesday we’ll be enjoying pints and poems at an event that we’ve entitled Poems at the Pub, in hopes that we can begin a regular thing, with featured readers and open mics. The owner seems open to the possibility, especially if things go well.

So if you are in or near northeastern Pennsylvania, consider joining us in the upper room at Dugan’s Irish Pub, 385 Main Street in the town of Luzerne, right off highway 309, just across the river from Wilkes-Barre.

Joining me will be my friends Erin L. Delaney, Joel Showalter, and my son Micah J. Bauman, whose voice you heard in the above video. The music in the video is “Merci,” courtesy of Stillborn Blues.

I assume the ratio of poems to pints will be strictly monitored. Best wishes for a successful event.

  4. Not sure how I missed this post since I follow you! Anyway, hope it was a great time, I’m sure it was. From here, it looks like you live in a pocket of paradise. We have pockets of creative communities here in L.A., but also: traffic when trying to reach those pockets! And never enough trees.

    1. It takes a lot of planning and promotion to get the word out, but there are a lot of good people here who help spread the word, and Erin Delaney has been my partner in crime in promoting things.
